I’ve been using duplicate file finders lately to clean up my hard drive, and I’m wondering—can duplicate finders ignore different formats? For example, if I have the same image saved as both JPG and PNG, or the same video in MP4 and MOV formats, will these tools still detect them as duplicates? Or do they only match files with the exact same format and size? I’d love to hear your experiences and recommendations for tools that can handle this better.

If you want a free option, some lightweight duplicate finders have basic video detection, but for deeper content comparison, investing in a paid tool like DuplicateFilesDeleter is worth it. Has anyone else tried it or other video-specific duplicate finders? Would love to hear your experiences!
